FOREWORD
by Elizabeth Hall
As
I have mentioned before,
hazards come in all sizes
and strengths. Preparedness
isn’t just for
the catastrophic events
we may encounter, but
for the everyday incidents
that the world unfolds
before us. And even though
we may never be fully
prepared for what lies
ahead, isn’t it
better to do what we
can in our own strength
than to rely on someone
else for our protection
and needs?
Sometimes
you just need information
at your fingertips, and
who has time to read
a 600 page manual on
how to prepare for emergencies;
am I right? |
| |
| The
Kings County Preparedness
Website
has many links to resources
you need - right at your
fingertips. If you haven’t
had a chance to check it
out, now is the time. September
is National Preparedness
Month, and my challenge
to you this year is to
create your own resource
manual; something that
suits your individual needs.
That could be as simple
as a one-page listing of
the links you find that
pertains to you, to a print
out of all the pages you
would like to keep in a
file or binder for easy
access. Let’s start
with the basic overview
of the website shall we? |
