The Kings County Public Health Department has an essential role in bioterrorism preparedness and response, all of which is accomplished by strategic planning, surveillance and early detection of communicable diseases , laboratory support , emergency communication planning, education and training as well as coordination with other “front line” agencies such as the Office of Emergency Services (OES) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) which are but two of the sixty departments, organizations and agencies that have partnered with the Public Health Department to protect Kings County Community against bioterrorism.
