What Does
Shelter-in-Place Mean?
"Shelter-in-place" means to take immediate shelter wherever you are — home, work, school or in between.
Local authorities may instruct you to "shelter-in-place" if chemical or radiological contaminants are released
into the environment, usually for just a few hours. This is a precaution aimed to keep you safe while remaining indoors.
